Civil Defence Rescue Team
Palmerston North's REST ( Rescue Emergency Support Team ) is one of 18 nationally accredited volunteer emergency rescue teams in the country.
They respond to emergencies in Palmerston North, including:
- civil defence emergency management.
- urban search & rescue.
- flood, swift water or high angle rope rescue emergencies.
How to become a REST team member:
- be committed and dedicated.
- undergo regular training to maintain skills to the highest level possible.
- complete internationally recognised qualifications such as NZQA National Certificates,Tertiary Certificates and up to five industry certificates in Rescue.
CIVIL DEFENCE VOLUNTEER RESCUE TEAM – RECRUITING now for 2008
The Rescue Emergency Support Team recruits annually. Applicants are required to complete an application, attend an interview and be able to attend a residential Recruits Course to be considered for team membership.
Open night – 8th July, 7PM (City Council CAB Main Entrance, The Square)
Recruits Course – 15th (night), 16th & 17th August.
