Centennial Drive Proposed Access Change

Have your say on proposed changes to the night time access to Centennial Drive.

A public meeting, called by residents was held on Tuesday 15th September 09 at the Chalet on Centennial Drive to discuss the problem of noisy vehicles and unruly driving behaviour in the streets surrounding the Hokowhitu Lagoon and adjacent reserve.

The Issue:

The residents of the area are regularly disturbed by large numbers of vehicles using Centennial Drive and surrounding streets as a racing circuit late at night.

Noise and disturbance problems are also caused by large numbers of vehicles and people congregating in the Chalet carpark and on the grass verge adjacent to the Hokowhitu Golf Club.

The main problems arise from noisy vehicles and irresponsible driver activity in the streets and spaces around the Hokowhitu Lagoon.

Other issues were raised such as unsafe parking, lack of regard for stop signs and the speed of vehicles using the streets.

This area is Reserve land rather than vested road, therefore we have come up with a couple of options to help reduce this issue, please read the attached document and have your say by ringing Council's Contact Centre or emailing us on info@pncc.govt.nz

We would like to hear from you by 9 October 2009
